HLTSS00066 Infection control Skill Set (Food Handling)

The economy has witnessed a broad influence on infection control standards across various jobpositions due to the impact of COVID-19. To meet the rising needs of heavily affectedindustriessuch as the Retail industry, this course has been developed to address the infectionrisks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The primary objective of this course is to mitigate potential hazards for employees working inRetail positions as they go about their daily responsibilities.
Students of this course willlearn how to follow standard and additional precautions forinfection prevention and control, identify infection hazards and assess risks, and followprocedures for managing risks associated with specific hazards.
Delivery Method
Online.
The online delivery comprises of self-paced online learning, set readings and activities via the online learning platform, Moodle, as well as Trainer led lectures via Zoom.
Course Duration
This course is 20 hours in duration, which comprises of 10 hours online delivery, 3-6 hours online assessment and 2-4 hours workplace assessment
Class Timetable
After enrolment, Learners will be given access to the VirtualLearning Environment and can complete the Online Delivery at their own pace with on-going support from their designated Trainer. Upon completion of the Online Delivery and Online Assessment, the Learner is to inform their Trainer of their readiness to undertake the Workplace Assessment.
Assessment Methods
Assessment methods for this course includes knowledge assessment, demonstration, workplace task and workplace observation.
- Applicants must be 17 years of age or older at course commencement.
- Current employment in a Retail position and able to undertake workplace assessment at place of employment.

On completion of this course, graduates may choose to enrol in other VET short courses to broaden their employment opportunities. Competency and Re-assessment
To successfully complete this course, Learners must receive a Satisfactory result for all assessment tasks. Where a Learner is unable to achieve a Satisfactory result on their first attempt of a task, they are given three more attempts at no additional cost. Where a Learner is still unable to achieve a Satisfactory result for the task, re-assessment fees will apply.
